Patient Testimonials

tullis family 2010.jpg.bmp

AC Chiropractic has been part of our lives for 14 years.  We began when our now oldest child was 10 months old.  Dr. C & Dr. A have been through a lot with us over the years. - my husband's 14 year battle with ulcertive colitis which ended with 2 surgeries in 2007, my battle with endometriosis, 4 pregnancies and births, childhood injuries and severe food allergies just to name a few.  Over the years their commitment of care for us has not waivered.  This is not their "job" it is their life, their passion- and  the evidence is seen in my family.

There are some diseases, pains and sufferings we have to walk with in our lives.  There are no quick fixes, but it is a process by which we must learn to live with the best we can.  Dr. A & Dr. C have helped us do this by adjustments that allow our bodies to function at their best, encouragement and  knowledge on nutrition and alternatives to traditional medicine. Our family's belief is "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.  It's about learning to dance in the rain."

Thank you Dr. A & Dr. C for helping us dance in the rain.

With much love and appreciation,
The Tullis Family

From Cynic to Believer

I would like to share with you my recent experience at AC Chiropractic Life Center.  I have been a life-long cynic of chiropractic care, not convinced of its medical authenticity.  I understand that many people swear by the practice and are confident that their day to day well-being is directly related to having a correct alignment – assisted by regular chiropractic services.  I have long doubted this belief.

On a recent business trip I began to experience extreme knee pain, warranting a trip to the local emergency room.  I was diagnosed with arthritis in my knee and advised to see an orthopedic specialist upon my return home, completing my trip in a wheelchair.  I made an appointment with a local, very well known Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon who, after a brief evaluation, treated my knee with shots of cortisone directly into the joint.  In addition to being painful, there is the concern of the effects of steroids on my body.  It is well known that this type of treatment can have a detrimental effect on organ function and has many other negative implications.  While I did experience some relief of the discomfort in my knee, I was not anxious to a future involving ongoing steroidal treatment.

My neighbor convinced me to visit Dr. Cavallo at AC Chiropractic Life Center.  I made an appointment, still very doubtful that this ‘treatment’ of my condition held much promise.  Imagine my surprise when the examination of my knee was so much more thorough than the one done by the orthopedist.  Dr. Cavallo manipulated not only my knee, but my ankle, my hip, my waist – pretty much my whole body!  It doesn’t take a lot of medical knowledge to understand that all the body parts work as a whole, not as isolated areas independent unto themselves.  Why was my orthopedist only concerned with the knee?  I found myself beginning to appreciate this perspective and opening my mind to the possibility that there is more to chiropractic than I had previously conceded.

Needless to say, I have experienced tremendous relief from the knee pain – without the use of drugs and their accompanying concerns.  I am sure there is no coincidence that I have improvement in other areas of my body as well.  I didn’t realize that there were so many areas of my body that were causing discomfort – I had just accepted that I was experiencing the ‘normal’ discomforts of aging.

I suppose you could say that Dr. Cavallo and AC Chiropractic Life Center have made a believer of me.  I have been thrilled with the results and look forward to working with Dr. Cavallo to better manage my overall health from this point on.  I am encouraging my friends and co-workers to consider chiropractic treatment for health issues they are dealing with and not accepting the standard medical treatments for so many conditions that may be as debilitating (or more so) than the condition they are treating.  I now believe that everyone owes it to themselves to discover an alternative to the ‘status quo’ of the medical industry and reach out for an alternative that may offer them more than they ever imagined.

Thank you Dr. Cavallo!  Thank you AC Chiropractic Life Center!  I appreciate what you have done for me and what I know you will do for me in the future.

Health for the whole family

I’m Alan Blake and have been a patient of AC Chiropractic since 2005.  In 2004, I began having trouble with my left arm.  My symptoms slowly worsened to the point where certain motions and postures would cause my fingers to go numb. I continued to lose strength in my left hand and arm to almost 50%.  Needless to say, I was concerned!

I visited my regular MD, and he said I probably had a pulled muscle in my back that was causing the irritation to the nerve.  He prescribed a few days on Flexeril and said to come back within a week to see how it was doing.  I took one of the muscle relaxers that evening and thought I was living in a cartoon like world.  As some would say, it made me “loopy”, and I never took another one of those pills.

Being a Police Officer, I have to work with a clear mind and remain physically sound. I knew the medicine route was not an option, so the next day I returned to my MD.  After a frank discussion, we agreed that my next step would be to seek Chiropractic treatment.

My first visit with Dr. C. was in March, 2005.  We discussed the several factors that were causing my condition such as my sleeping posture, work related stress, including my sitting posture at my desk all of which were contributing to the misalignment in my spine.  The proverbial “light bulb” went off when I realized, with Dr. C’s assessment, we were getting to the root cause of my condition, not just medicating the symptoms.

I began feeling positive results within about two weeks of pretty intense treatment.  Around week four, relief was more noticeable, and by the third month of adjustments and traction, I was at 100% and pain-free!  The best news was that my health benefits did not stop there.
When I was in my thirties, I seem to get at least one respiratory infection per year.  With chiropractic care, I have not had one in over 2 years.  I have remained under the care of Dr. C since 2005 and I cannot recall the last time I took an antibiotic or needed it.  Now at 46 years of age, I feel as healthy and fit as when I was in my twenties.

Because of my success, I have shared the gift of health with my own family. My wife, Rebecca, and our three children are now benefiting from chiropractic care at AC Chiropractic Life Center.

Pain Free finally

I began having little stabs of pain in my right hip about 31/2 years ago.  I ignored it.  It got worse.  I ignored it.  A friend finally suggested I see her chiropractor so I did for about a year.  It seemed to get better but then it always came back.  I had an MRI and it showed no problem with my hip.  She finally released me because she could not help me.

Then I went to my Orthopedic Surgeon who wanted to send me to Nashville to see some renowned hip doctor for surgery.  That did not work out.  I did not think it was time for surgery since X-rays and MRI’s showed no problem in my hip.  Went to another Orthopedist.  He sent me for Physical Therapy.  That made my hip hurt more.  He gave me a cortisone shot and I finally got some relief for about 3 months then the pain came back.  My hip was getting progressively worse.  He sent me for a bone scan.  Nothing.  I finally agreed to exploratory surgery and was ecstatic when he told me he found some bone floating around in there and that that could definitely be the cause of the pain.  The pain never went away and now the left hip was starting to hurt.  This Orthopedist admitted defeat and I went home and just got worse and worse.  Another friend suggested acupuncture.  Tried it.  That did not work either.  Went to a third Orthopedist, more X-rays and he said there was nothing showing in my hip and sent me to a pain specialist.  I asked him and the acupuncturist if some people just have pain for no apparent reason and they both said yes.  I accepted that for a while and then thought that that was the stupidest thing I had ever heard.  The pain doctor gave me cortisone shots in both hips and I got some relief for about a month.  The pain was back with a vengeance and I was hopeless.  I made an appointment with a Neurologist and if that did not work it would be time to shop for wheel chairs.  All I could do was sit.  I could barely drag myself up the stairs or do any regular daily things like going to the grocery store.  When I finally HAD to go to the store, I used the cart to try to help me get through it.  It was horrible.  I really felt like my life was over.

Another friend was visiting and told me about his chiropractor and said I should really try them so I told him to make me an appointment.  He did and I went.  They did X-rays and when I saw the X-rays, my mouth fell open and I began to cry.  My neck was backwards.  I did not really know what that meant but it couldn’t be good.  Dr C. assured me that he could help me and at that point, I had nothing to loose, except gas.  I live in Roswell and their office is an hour away, no traffic.  It has taken me up to almost 2 hours to get there and of course, the same amount of time to get home.   Dr. C recommended coming 3 times per week to get maximum results so I started going 3 times a week.  I probably pass 20 chiropractor’s offices to get to them.  It took a little while to see results but I slowly started to feel better.  I asked him why the first chiropractor didn’t help me and he said that the majority of chiropractors treat symptoms.  A/C treats the problem.  They’re practice doesn’t even look similar to the first chiropractor I saw.  It has been about 5 months now and I have my life back.  I am not perfect but I can go to the grocery store, clean the house and do just about anything I want to.

I am virtually pain free and so thankful to have found these doctors.  They literally saved my life.  I am convinced that chiropractic is a necessary part of life.  I love the idea of my body healing me and not the drugs and surgeries.

There is a poster in the restroom that says “Chiropractic like gravity works whether you believe it or not.”  I believe it.

CHIROPRACTIC means Good Health...

Chiropractic care is having the assurance that your mind and body are functioning at their highest level with continuous maintenance. Its knowing that when you do occasionally get sick your immune system is so strong you`re body will heal itself without the aid of drugs, shots, vaccinations or surgery. Not overnight, but clearly in a shorter period of time.

Chiropractic care is knowing that two caring, wonderful doctors are available for their patients, doctors who specialize in family health care infancy on up to adulthood. Chiropractic care has surprised me in my life, in that the benefits of such methods of healing actually worked. I support chiropractic care. Having this vast amount of knowledge (with additional information available), I truly cannot believe all humans are not seeking this type of health care, to live a drug free, happy, healthy lifestyle with chiropractic care. Chiropractic care should be the key to everyone`s wellness and it simply means GOOD HEALTH!

CHIROPRACTIC means Hope…

Chiropractic to me means hope.
It gives me hope where traditional medicine has failed.
It allows me to have confidence in the body that God gave me.
It allows me to cope and even overcome disease.
It means encouragement and support from the doctors that care about me as a whole person.
The ones that dedicate their lives to making their patients the healthiest they can be.
Thank you for your time and dedication.
I can never express what an important part of my family`s lives you are.

WHAT CHIROPRACTIC MEANS TO ME…

When I started at the clinic, the first thing they did was prove without a doubt that there was a problem with my spine. Dr. C showed me the x-rays during a scheduled consultation and explained in detail the problems with my spine. It was like starting with the basics of the human skeleton. Dr. C started my adjustments at 3 times per week. After 3 months I noticed my blood pressure was coming down. The readings were around 145 over 95. I am 5 months into my care and down to two adjustments per week. My blood pressure is now down to normal with readings around 120 over 80. There was even a diastolic reading of 79. I don’t remember that last time I had a diastolic reading that low!

I want to literally thank Dr. C and the people at AC Chiropractic, as well as my wife, from the bottom of my HEART for the care and attention they have given me.

More Energy - No MORE NAPS!

Most everyone knows I have been struggling with my thyroid meds trying to get my fatigue under control.   By 1-2pm I would lose the ability to function. Mentally and physically would feel more like it was 11pm not the middle of a day.    It seemed that being on the 2nd thyroid med for my T3 helped before, but this time it wasn't doing any good.  In fact, my numbers tested out fine w/o the T3. I was left with recommendation to take a 15-20min nap. Great idea. Rarely an option!

I finally decided to listen to my chiropractor (go figure)!   I have been taking IntraMAX all-in-one liquid vitamin for nearly a month now.  A couple of days ago I said, “WAIT! I have no more afternoon fatigue!”   It snuck out of me!  Seriously, I don't remember the last time I needed that afternoon nap.    I have to say, I am tempted to go off my hypothyroid drugs and see how my numbers look!

It does not come cheap.  But I am finding a way to afford it, because in my book its 100% worth it!   (THANKS DR. CAVALLO!! See you next week, promise!)

I did not know that there were doctors that cracked peoples bones until I was injured in football. My trainer George told me about Dr. C and I asked my parents to take me.  Dr. C took pictures of my back and said it looked like an "S". I kept going to him until my back felt better and my "S" is gone.

Then Dr. C  found out that I have always had trouble with ear infections and that I have had 8 surgeries to try to help them. He started cracking my neck and I feel better.

Before, I was always at the doctor for my ear hurting and always on medication since I was a baby my momma said.  Now, I have been on NO medicine or to a doctor since I see Dr. C.

I eat more food now than ever my momma said. Dr. C gives me a big white pill that helped put stuff back in my body that all of the medication from my doctor had taken away.  I now play football, baseball and  basketball and don't get tired from doing it. I don't always want to take time to see Dr. C but my momma and daddy make me and I am glad when I do. I don't call Dr. C a friend, I call him my BEST FRIEND! AC Chiropractic ROCKS!  ~Thomas, age 9
